Melted keys and good intentions: a cautionary tale about DIY computer

Itzik is a nice guy who wanted a computer, so he spent two months researching where to find the cheapest one in the country — and bought it.

He then left the computer unattended, together with a small child, also unattended.

The child spilled water on the keyboard, and it broke.

Itzik was clever. He knew that heat dries water — just like in the ocean — so he grabbed a hair dryer and thoroughly dried the keyboard.

The keys melted, and the keyboard remained very much broken.

Itzik came to me holding a melted, ruined keyboard and asked: what do I do now?

I offered him a recipe:
Dip the computer in egg and breadcrumbs on both sides, fry it, and serve to guests with rice. 😀

Takeaways?
- Never leave a child unattended
- Never leave a computer unattended
- If we don't know how to fix something, it's better to take it to someone who does.
