The logic behind naming a tech company White Tiger

What's the logic behind naming a tech company White Tiger?

-

Every now and then I meet clients who raise an eyebrow when they hear the name of the business I founded — White Tiger.

The name has nothing to do with technology, for starters.
It's not in Hebrew.
And when you insist on spelling it out in Hebrew, it looks terrible (ווייט טייגר — way too many ו's and י's for just two words).

-

But when I explain the reasoning behind the choice, the name suddenly sounds remarkably sensible:

- I was looking for a name that didn't include my own, because my dream was to build a tech company that would be recognized and function on its own merits — with or without me.

- I wanted a name unrelated to any computing concept, because in that case Google results typically lead to sites about the original concept rather than to mine.

- It was important to me that the name be memorable to everyone who encountered it.

- When someone searches for the name on Google, I wanted it to be unambiguous — the first result should be this business, and nothing else.

- There should be no risk of a registered trademark conflict on the name.

White Tiger meets all of these requirements.
The fact that it isn't a tech concept means that anyone searching for the combination of "White Tiger" alongside computers will get this site first in the search results.

The fact that it's a name with *character* makes it far more memorable than something meaningless like "K.S.T.", for example.

The logo is a little wild, true — but the fun of starting a business is the privilege of doing whatever you want, because you're the boss.

-

Above all, though, the main reason is simply that I love white tigers.
White tigers radiate a royalty, beauty, and power that is hard to find in any other animal.

My hope was that choosing this name would convey to everyone who encountered the brand its values and character — and I believe that in the years since, that mission has been crowned a success.

And of course, credit must be given where it's due for the stunning designs to Revital Mor-Haim רויטל מור-חיים.
The branding work she created is timeless, and I find myself loving it just as much every single day, despite all the years that have passed.
