Near the reception desk of a luxury hotel in Zurich, guests were surprised to find a homeless man sleeping.

The hotel prides itself on an exceptionally high hospitality experience, with room rates running around €1,000 per person per night.
A closer look at the sleeping homeless man reveals that he is not real, but rather an elaborately crafted sculpture by American artist Duane Hanson.
Markus Karnely, the hotel's manager, explained in an interview that the sculpture's purpose is to evoke compassion for the suffering of the lower class — in a setting that is, above all else, meant to embody the lavish lifestyle of the privileged.
This is undoubtedly a bold and inspiring move, proving that there are still businesses out there whose values are embedded in their DNA before profit.
