Forget electric vehicles and green energy.
What will actually save the Earth is a massive nuclear explosion.

The climate crisis is already here.
Weather is becoming unpredictable and dangerous, manifesting as droughts on one hand and violent storms on the other.
According to a study published in The Telegraph, by the end of the century some 30 million people could lose their lives as a result of climate change's effects.
The economic damage could reach tens of trillions of dollars — and that is certainly cause for concern.

Scientists are proposing an original solution to the problem: atomic bombs.
According to the plan, a controlled nuclear detonation would be carried out with a yield of 81 gigatons — equivalent to approximately 1,620 nuclear warheads.
The explosion would pulverize 4 trillion tons of basalt into dust, which would then be used to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Each ton of basalt can absorb up to 0.3 tons of carbon dioxide, which would make it possible to offset all carbon emissions from the past 30 years.

The cost of the project is estimated at approximately $10 billion — a modest sum relative to the damage caused by climate change and the budgets already directed at tackling the problem.
A location has already been chosen as well: the Kerguelen Plateau in the southern Indian Ocean.
These islands are rich in basalt and so remote that the nearest inhabited settlement is more than 3,000 kilometers away.
Let's hope they announce the exact date far enough in advance so we have time to pack a suitcase and buy a one-way ticket to Mars.
